When to use this tool

Group dinner: 8 people share a 1.2M VND hotpot — figure out tip and per-person amount.

0% tip is fine in Vietnam — no enforced tipping culture. Many upscale restaurants already include a service charge.
Service charge 5-10% is common at upscale restaurants and hotels — check the menu to avoid double-charging.
VAT 8% (temporarily reduced from 10% under Resolution 142/QH15) — ask for an invoice if you need to expense it.
Round to 5k/10k — easier bank transfers when each person owes 190k vs 187,250đ.
